Tapping the bone

Tradition: Ancestral magick

Author: Peter Paddon

Purpose: Retrieve lost information and knowledge through trance work.

Ingredients:

  • An altar for your ancestors
  • A fake human skull
  • Offerings to your ancestors

Methodology:

Sit cross legged facing the ancestral altar

Recite:

I seek conference with my ancestors, of blood and beloved, for insight and clarity, as I will it to be.

Pick up the skull from the altar and hold it in your lap so that you and the skull is facing the same direction.

Keep the skull in constant contact with your hands during the entire ritual.

In this posture, you are mimicking a skull and crossbones.

Close your eyes and begin to rock back and forth slowly, do not be afraid to lose yourself into a trance.

When you feel ready, say aloud the questions you wish to answer, while still rocking back and forth.

Allow any images, voices and/or visions to appear in your mind. Do not hold on to them, allow it to pass.

Your rocking and emotions may intensify, it is normal.

Once you feel like your questions has been answered or too much information has been given to you and you need to write it down, break from the trance.

Thank your ancestors for joining the ritual and slow down your rocking.

Place the skull back on the altar and end the ritual by knocking three times on the altar.
