Binding and Containment Jar

Tradition: Witchcraft

Purpose: To control and subdue negative situations, people or habits.

Ingredients:

  • Glass jar
  • Black candle
  • Lighter
  • Pen and paper to write down the target, or a photograph if you are binding a person
  • Twine
  • Salt/black salt
  • 4 sharp pins

Methodology:

Cut the paper so that it will roll up and fit easily into your jar.

Write your intentions to bind on the paper/photograph and roll the paper away from you.

Insert one pin through the bottom of the rolled-up paper.

Recite:

With this pin, I bind [your intention].

Then, take another pin and insert it above the first one, making a cross.

Recite:

With this pin, I contain [person/habit/situation].

Insert the third pin through the rolled up paper, perpendicular to the previous pin and recite:

With this pin, I will stop [your intentions and why].

Insert the fourth pin above and perpendicular to the third along the top of your rolled paper.

Recite:

And with this pin, I will control [target/situation/habit].

Tie the rolled up paper with the twine. Recite as you tie a dead knot:

I bind [your intentions], and so it is.

Place the paper upright in the jar and fill the jar with salt.

Recite:

With the power of this salt, may I now cleanse, purify and bury you from ever doing harm to me again.

Light the black candle and seal the jar with the candle wax.

Store behind the toilet or in the freezer. You can also choose to dispose of it in running water or bury in a marsh.
